Valorant account purchase risks and questions to ask
Understand publisher rules, recovery risks and the limits of seller assurances.
Understand the publisher’s position
Riot explicitly says that buying, selling or transferring accounts violates its Terms of Service. A purchase through a marketplace does not create an exception. You should consider possible enforcement and loss of access before deciding whether to proceed.
Creating your own account through Riot avoids the account-transfer risks discussed here. No seller description or marketplace badge changes the publisher’s rules.
Separate seller claims from evidence
Reviews, screenshots and a detailed description can help you understand what is being offered, but they cannot prove permanent future access. A screenshot shows a moment in time, and an account’s history may be incomplete.
Ask whether the advertised rank is current, what access will be supplied, whether any restrictions are known, and what happens if the delivered details differ from the listing. Keep the answers so you can refer to the actual agreement if an issue occurs.
Ask about recovery and support limits
An account can become the subject of an ownership or recovery dispute. Access to a linked inbox should not be treated as proof that this risk has been eliminated. Ask what a seller’s guarantee actually covers, for how long, what evidence is required and which events are excluded.
Read the store’s published terms and refund policy. If a promise in a message differs from those policies, request clarification before paying. Avoid making assumptions from phrases such as lifetime, safe or full access.
Keep private details private
Never post credentials or recovery codes in public reviews or Discord channels. When requesting order help, begin with your order ID and a description of the problem. Hide private information in screenshots unless it is specifically necessary for a trusted support process.
